Tasting of veal - cheek, sweetbreads, tenderloin with celeriac puree, roasted celeriac and sauteed black trumpet mushroom. Finished with black trumpet mushroom dust.
Classic and timeless. Nicely cooked elements that found a place with eachother on a single dinner plate. Besides the trio of veal (the spongy lobe of sweetbreads was my favourite), it was nice to find celeriac (also in various forms) on the plate. The crunch from the trumpet mushroom was beautiful, then again it's trumpet mushroom (which is beautiful).
Later on bone marrow toasts arrived as a side snack dish to form the second part of this course.

My first visit to New York led to a walk through Central Park. It was a beautiful fall morning, and there were several bands and singing groups in the park that day. This was a quick shot with my Canon S90 Point and Shoot at just the right time.
A malaysian Trumpet snail to be exact.
This small (8mm) critter is great for a bit of macro practice.
It's also under water, so it fits the Sunday phlow's theme too...
Excelent algae eaters and general clean up crew, mostly nocturnal and living under the ground (gravel) during the daylight hours makes them a welcome resident in my planted aquarium.
Lately they've been suffering shell erosion. That tells me something is out of whack in my tank, but as yet, I've yet to find out exactly what.
Strobist: one bare flash above the tank on a radio trigger.
Macro: 70-200 F4L on 150mm extender rails at a distance of about 3 cm.
